On one of my routine pawnshop patrolsI found this beauty in prisitne condition. It says spyderco on the pocket clip and has the bug stamp. The blade has ATS-34 stamped on one side and Japan stamped on the other. I cannot find any info about this knife other than it is called model 67 and the "R" knife. I spent $55 on it. I would like to know more about this knife. If anyone has any information about it I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for your feedback. I may carry it as pocket jewelry but I am not going to use it. I am curious as to what it was meet to be used for(strict collector's piece). I would be afraid to put it to heavy use. It is so featherlight and I was suprised to learn that the handle was aluminum. When I firts held it I thought it had a plastic scale over metal liners. I have never seen this type of coating before.

It can definitely get the job done, I wouldnt at all be afraid about using it. Its a very tough knife as long as you used it for cutting the right matter. If you know how to use and sharpen it , you could could carry and use it all the time and still double your $ when done having fun though I wouldnt ever reco selling it becasue you will certainly REGRET IT!

Thanks for your input dericdesmond. I said something about being able to sell this knife for more than I paid for it and she immediately said "No you won't!". She knows me well. I know I would hate myself for selling this. It is a once in a lifetime find. I feel a little better about carrying around and using it, a little.

A buddy of mine started hanging out at a pawn shop some years ago. He now helps out on a regular basis and has real good relations with the owners. He was my "lookout" for spydie bargains but soon began to short run me and hog them all up for himself. Now I have to endure the occasional "look what came thru the pawn shop last week" brag sessions. His Spyderco collection is ever growing at frustrating bargains. Once while he was bragging about his latest find (a calypso junior) his wife strolled by and plucked it out of his hand. She said "hey thanks!" and kept on walking. She has EDC'd that knife for the past two years. She is the only female that I know of that carries a Spydie just like a man would, clipped to her right front pocket. She uses it too. I've seen her deploy it and cut with it.

It was sweet revenge to see her swipe that thing so casually. The look on my buddy's face was priceless! :)
