It’s finally became time to clean out the barns. I picked up a few things that I don’t know a lot about and hoping the fine folk here can help!

1. The markings look like it’s a double bit Kelly Perfect. It’s not marked Keen Kutter tho. Only marked ‘Simmons’ and ‘4’. I know it’s a 4lb head. Is this an E.C. Simmons before the Keen Kutter name? It has a newer handle.

2. Buhl & Sons out of Detroit. Handle looks original. Has an old faded logo on it. Marked on both sides. I am finding very little on the internet about this company. Any info is appreciated.

3. Not an axe but a old 2 man cross cut saw. No marking anywhere that I can see. See photos.

Any info at all is appreciated. I am curious to the value just for my own mind but these will be cleaned up and put on a wall. Thanks everyone!!

Just an FYI many manufacturers made axes with what are called phantom bevels.
It seems like the TT Kelly perfects are the most common and well known axes to feature them but lots of companies did feature these on various axes.
TT and Mann did do lots of contract production, so that is certainly a real possibility.

Looks like a fine old axe regardless, and you're very lucky to have these from your grandfather.
