I would like to take a minute and bring to light an experience that has changed me. It started a few days ago with an innocent enough email from a regular member on this sub-forum. The exact details and other party involved are not important. Fast forward to yesterday and I am opening a usps shipping box. To my surprise this package contained a smaller package inside wrapped with a hand written note. Ignoring the package(we will get back to this later) I unrolled the letter and feasted my eyes on this most enjoyable note. I was asked a few things in this letter, but one request particularly stood out. This individual asked that they recieve nothing in return, period. This is why I am writing this I guess. Not that this person needs any more affirmation of my appreciation, but that I would like others to know of a generous act. I think the world is plagued with the negative. Every where I turn its negative from the news to the local paper, even just good old talkin to folks. It seems that their is not much good to talk about. I have a favorite commercial that kinda fits in here. Now this is no way a sales pitch, it just fits in(mods can delete if needed)

You never know who is watching. You never know how you help others or what a small gesture can mean to someone else, no matter the size or content. Without pushing my beliefs or values on anyone I just wanted to share this little sunny moment in my life. I may not be able to repay this kind person for their gift, but I can take a life lesson from this and spread it to whomever wants to listen. Pay it forward is the title of this thread and for good reason. It is the spirit of the action that needs to be carried on. I believe that the little things in life are what matter. Stop and smell the roses, share your passion with others. Give that helping hand when needed without wanting anything in return, you might enjoy it. I have already seen plenty of this around here but guess I felt compeled to express my gratitude and share my story. This is a special place, a League of Ladies and Gentlemen if you will. I am proud to be a member here.
Alright, alright, its time to tie this all together. This is a knife forum after all and we still have that other package to discuss. The letter happened to be wrapped around a tube. Its contents containing a most impressive example of the Northfield line from GEC. Now most here have seen my pics of the montana whittler #79 that I have and being as impressed with this knife as I have been. Purchasing a backup was something I was looking into and even stated on here. I have not pulled the trigger on that purchase and well I dont need to anymore. This one just happens to be my top choice. Ill end this little post with a few pics for your veiwing pleasure and to the gentleman that payed it forward to me, Thank You
