Paying my Respects to my Ontario SP10 Marine Raider (pictures)

I agree with you TheJeepster that this knife is a bulldozer of a blade. It is one heck of a knife for the money. Here is a pic of mine that I won in a GAW that Maddogg so generously held here on BF. Thanks again Maddogg!

You look so serious! Smile for the camera. :)

Good review man, thanks for the pics.

Glad you like the Ontario SP10. It is a good general purpose chopper and camping knife if you are comfortable with the size, and you appear to be comfortable with it. I have the Ontario Cutlass Machete which is similar. It doesn't see much use, not because it is not a good blade, simply because I use others.

I like that you actually gave the full name of the knives which helps folks who might not be familiar with them look them up and perhaps purchase one. I can see why you chose your BF handle. Stay safe.

235,000 miles and it runs like a top, at 300,000 I am going to completely rebuild the whole vehickle.

The Marine Raider is worth getting but what is important is not just getting it but get out and use it. Next weekend I am doing a summer hike, I will post more pictures.

Must be the 4.0L.
Awaiting pics of hike.

I had mine out Saturday chopping undergrowth on my property. It is a great knife and gets the job done.

Very cool post! I had no idea about the water direction trees. I learn something new on here every day.

I've never had a marine raider, but I had a spec plus marine combat knife. It is one tough mutha. I gave it to my brother and he uses it out at the lake.

Great read, thanks for sharing. I've had a few Ontario's over the years, the SP8 was my favorite and could take a beating. I gifted it to a friend who went "overseas" and as far as I know it's still going strong.

Wow looks like a great spot jeepster

I use the katadyn filter also but its the smaller version. Great filters!

Keep listing to your son about the more modern stuff as far as boots, packs etc I'm not a gear junkie but I do love the stuff that makes my time in the brush more comfortable.

What stove are you using? I've tried all the different modern high speed low drag stoves but I've settled in on alcohol stoves for the moment. Did you cooked the fish with your fire?
