I was here for 3 months before I signed up to be a dues paying member. It is a pain in the ass to figure out how to pay your dues  but it is worth the effort to pay for the site and not have those annoying/distracting ads. If we don't pay dues then they will put up ads that get money every time we clik :( .

EDIT ADDED: I like this site and would've became a member sooner if it was easier.

I happen to love BF, and think it is absolutely worth it to be a paying member, to help support the site!! Go to the main forums, and it says upgrade your forum experience. It IS very easy to do.

I've been a paying member ever since it was first introduced. This is definitely a place worth supporting, as far as I am concerned. Also, I don't think it is hard to figure out how to pay for a membership, especially if you live in the US. US members can use the automated system that is incredibly easy. I'm not from the US, so I can't use the automated system, and I still think it is easy to make payment.

Yeah, I've had a couple offers to buy the site come through (the latest for over $100,000) but they'd all change it to banner ads everywhere. Memberships help keep this place ad free

This site, and the people here, and the information I've learned have saved me lots of money (on not buying knives I wouldn't have liked), far more than I've spent on yearly membership. I love that this place is ad free.

This is a great venue (multiple venues in one actually) for the knife enthusiast to hang out and learn more about the things that interest them. I lurked for a while before I registered and lurked a while after that before I recently became a paying member. If you benefit from your visits here then you should pay.

Being an IT guy myself, I know it takes alot of effort to maintain a site, let alone one that is as popular as this one. $25 a year for a gold membership is dang cheap compared to what you get.

The site is well worth the few odd dolla that help keep it running. you cant find more knife info in one place!
