If you sign up with PayPal then all the person has to do is sign up if they aren't already and they can pay with check or credit card. PayPal will either keep the money in a PayPal account right there online or you can transfer the $$$ into your bank account whenever you're ready. I usually leave a little in PayPal and transfer the rest to my account that way if I pay someone with PayPal then they get their money instantly.

Be aware that PayPal charges a fee for receiving the payment and a fee to transfer the payment but all in all it's pretty nice to use. I have a merchant account to accept credit cards like a regular store and they charge fees to so it all evens out in the end. If you accept checks make sure it clears before you ship anything and if you accept money orders, if it's a USPS money order you can cash them right there at the post office and they don't charge any fees.

I like paypal, i've been signed up for several years now. just a small correction, or clairification,
fee to transfer the payment
paypal does not charge a fee to transfer the money directly to your bank account. you have to set up you bank account and it takes a few days. They do charge to send you a check and for some other options.

You are correct, they don't charge a fee for that, it just takes a couple days but they've always been pretty quick about it. It was one of the other services I had that cost money to xfer it into my bank so I don't use them anymore.

I have a merchant account with paypal. I got it mainly for international customers but anyone can use if they prefer. I don't have it linked to my site. I just let them know it's an option.

I prefer PayPal. Its pretty good, and well-worth the 3% surcharge. Safe, secure, fast. I also like it because they can also list your transactions for you to verify your own records. Between PayPal, online banking through my local bank, and QuickBooks, my bookkeeping is a snap.

Be careful for Emails that are sent that you asking for info. i just recive one that said I had paid for a set of golf clubs, and when I click on the item it took me to a web site that looked just like paypal, and they wanted me to log in. You have to make sure that www.paypal.com is in the heading. This makes two I have recive since the first of the year, and I have forward to paypal. I have used paypal to buy several items and sold one knife with no problems.

Thanks I will be careful. I have had Email from scammers like that before for Paypal. Thankfully I just called Paypal and they told me it was a scam.
