Paypal Problem

I recently sold someone a Busse AK47 and it looks like PP suspended my account for it because they think it was a firearm. This is only an assumption at this point because I haven't contacted them but it's the only thing I can think of right now because the guy put AK47 in his payment subject line. Has anyone else been annoyed like this with PP?

They do things like that unfotunately... Best to have a link to send them that shows that the Busse AK47 is indeed a knife!

I don't beleive that was the case with PayPal. Call them direct, I bought and sold many, near 10 or 12 AK47's and worded just like that. Sounds like the buyer is backing out somewhere or a mix up with your account.

Keep us posted and good luck! I know it S*CKS!

Did PayPal ask you about it first or just suspend your acct.? Best thing I can suggest is to try to speak to someone over at PayPal, and explain to this person the difference; usually this'll solve the problem based on the assumption made on their part... you're probably right, and the PP computer most likely 'noticed' the AK47 written in the payment form... This would be on the list for red flagging a transaction with them automatically. I don't think that PP can be used for firearms...?

EDITED TO ADD: ...Man, I type slowly!!! ...Um, what westllen said!

I just spoke with a real live person and she said that I have to email their special department to get more information. What a croc!

Doubtful, this transaction was with a well known stand up forum member and besides in the email I got from them it makes reference to a Firearm transaction so that's why I'm assuming it's the AK47 subject line.

Ebay and Paypal are on a crusade to save the world from their Kalifornia headquarters.

No doubt! I guess they need to quit selling knives on Fleabay and allowing knife dealers to accept PP for payment!

BoulderDash!...HogWash...PoppyCock!....tell them you want to speak to someone with Authority NOW! They don't need to run an investigation, the computer shows all and every type of flag!

I bought a watch a year or two ago for over 4900.00 , PayPal flagged it immediately because they didn't want to be responsible for that kind of $$ loss. The Seller had a new account under a year old but with excellent transactions. PayPal still did not want to do it. After speaking with the 4th or 5th Rep. "they said if the Seller was established for more then Two years it would be fine but they were not" So I had to do Bank Check or a USPS money order, Which I did and broke it down to 5 USPS money orders, I figured if it went South, I'll get the G-man after there A$$.....All ended well!
Bottom line PayPal can tell you immediately at anytime. Don't let them lie or pass the buck.

Yeah sounds like the Government to me, she did unfreeze my remaining balance so at least I'll be able to get what I have in there for now until I appeal the process but I'm not so sure I want to deal with them anymore, why should I have to chase a company to give them business!

Is there a progun alternative to Paypal? If not someone with the knowledge needs to make one.

PayPal is Antigun.but I still use the service...The last purchase I made for some .233/20 rounders,the seller & I agreed beforehand,That I'd purchased "springs".
It's sad.If another safe alternative for sending/recieving funds were out there.I'd use it.
Good luck on your transaction...

Just a guess but since firearms transactions usually require someone with an FFL, a bank wire transfer would be the closest alternative, or CC by phone. Anyone know anything better? I'm curi:confused:us now. :) I onlu know of BidPay.com as an alternative to PP, but I think it's only for auction site(s).

Good advice. You shouldn't ever put anything that even looks like a gun in the subject line of a Paypal transaction because they will suspend your account, and it's hard to ever get them to change their minds. Trust me, I've had it happen.

Yeah I wish that it was common knowledge.
