I just went through a situation with paypal where they suspended my account because I was selling auto knives on BF that included a paypal payment option. I had to remove all reference to accepting payment by paypal before they would reinstate my account.

Has anyone else had this problem??

Actually...I had read their rules...just didn't understand the part about selling on other websites assuming it was referring to eBay.

Hm...
Initially I thought you meant "Paypal rules!"
Apparently, they don't.
Oh well.

Nope, they apply those rules to all websites. The easiest way to handle this is to apply the "Ebay" rules to all sales you use Paypal for, as 90% of the time Paypal will.

Thanks. It's probably worth getting the word out on this issue...as there are other threads both here on BF and other forums where auto knives are being sold with paypal as a payment option...some of them from pretty long standing memebers.

a busse forum member had issues with his paypal account when he sold an ak47 with paypal as method of payment.

apparantly they thought it was a firearm, not realizing it is a sword.

I know several auto knife dealers who've had their accounts frozen over the past couple of years. Best to just not mention anything about a knife when transferring funds....they don't need to know everyone's business anyway.
