I thought spyderco was releasing the paysan in 2022, I remember seeing it in their 2022 catalogue. Is it not happening anymore?

Yeah, it's there on page 103 of the 2022 Catalog but I haven't heard anything about it being available for sale anytime before the end of the year. I had 1 but sold it because it had an annoying lockstick problem. Used the sales proceeds to buy a NIrvana instead.
If you wait until November, you will able to see if it's on the Official Discontinued List for 2022 or not. If it's not on that list, there's still no guarantee that you'll still see one anytime soon but at least you'll know there's some chance that you will.
