I never come to this forum, but I saw a show last night that I thought you survival-types would appreciate. It was called "one man's wilderness" or something, the Richard Proenneke story. Some of you old timers may have heard of this guy already, he lived in alaska for 35 years using fairly primitive skill set. He wrote a book, with the above title, and the show had early footage of him in his 40's-50's. Facinating stuff.

Look for it on air, but here is a link.http://www.alaskanha.org/_details.cfm?ProdID=969

I taped this show and really enjoyed it. Even friends of mine who are not what I would call outdoors or survival oriented have commented to me about how much they liked the show and were amazed by it. Truly enjoyable show and proof that it is possible, at least in some places, to live a life mostly free from modern society.
