Hey guys, I am trying to remember the name of an adventure/puzzle game that was around the time of Win 95-98.

It was in the 1st person perspective, for its time the graphics were stunning and there was no interaction at all with anyone or anything other that opening doors or pressing a lever, the only goal was to solve some kind of puzzle.

It was set in fantastic ocean/mountain scenery and the architecture of the buildings looked medieval.

IIRC the name of the game was just a single word

Anyone help?

Sounds like the Myst/Riven games. There are a few sites online that have them for good prices and the games are packaged with software and installers that allow them to run great on newer systems with Windows Vista and Windwos 7. Email/PM me for details if you want them.

I made it through all of Myst. It was a real pleasant and challenging logic puzzle. Loved the musical background.

Probably my favorite computer game if I had to choose only one.

Never got too far in Riven. I lost my desire and they upped the difficulty.

That's why I like Bejeweled now. Completely mindless..... ;)

Yep! Thanks guys, I was on iTunes wracking my brains trying to remember, just looked and they have it for a very reasonable price.

Thanks again all! :D

Smart game even for now. I prefer games where you challenge your mind instead of phase out into it.

Myst and Riven were favorites of mine. Riven was a LOT more difficult but the brain workout was nice, especially after hours of mindless violence while playing Quake. I remember getting stuck for hours outside a giant revolving dome that had little peep holes. I don't remember exactly what was involved but I remember it being maddening.

Aww, now I'm all nostalgic. I think I need to get those old games back.

one time, my mom wanted to challenge me and my sisters to play the game start to finish and complete it before a certain time deadline (unfortunately don't remember exactly what the deadline was). If we could, she would give us 100 dollars. we got our hundred dollars. :D:thumbup:

gotta love that game!
and honestly looking back now, the graphics were way ahead of their time. I especially liked the swamp woods part. That was so cool with the...uh...mist, lol

PEace Out.

Around the same time we got a Tetris clone called 'Zentris'. It was essentially the same thing. (Playing on a DRDOS 386 PC w/80mb HD and 4mb of RAM) ;)

That game would make you nutty and wired. I remember playing for hours and trying to go to sleep. Those dropping shapes would still be in my mind for an hour.

My girlfriend at the time got 32,000 points. I got 28,000. Damn her. :(
