I recently aquired a PD I thought it would be more a tanto blade it's non coverd and has a nice patina on the flats. It is also hollow ground and seems to have the Busse flat/convex grind. no Busse logo it's sterile. any help?
I'll get pics when I can.
Thanks
Bob

There was a set of three or four PD variants a year or two back. Sounds like its one of those but I could be wrong. They were the only ones I ever saw that were not coated.

The ones I've seen had partial coating.

Nice pieces.

The tanto is a traditional tanto style, not the angular "American-ized" tanto grind.

Let see those pics bubba!!!

I've been trying to get some pics for my Bro Leatherman to put up.
It has no coating the non american tanto is definate. The grinds are just awsome one of the nicest knives I've seen. How do you think it compares to the PT5?
Peace
Bob

I have a partically coated one, the hollow grind area and the spine has no coating.
:D

Leatherman recognized the knife it is a Jungle Defender with the green coating removed. If Dwayne or Skunk would post a pic it's a totally sweet knife.
Peace and thanks for all ya'lls help
Bob

Here ya go, got a little busy and just now got to resizing them :D

sure looks mighty sweet with the coating removed, might look even sweeter with a good double cut bead blast! ;)

Was there some green left? Just curious how the difference was known between a standard PD and a JD.

it was a combat grade pd - took me hours to get that damn coating off. Lots and lots of sanding !!

Here is a PD variant and a JD..........
