PDF Problem

I'm trying to get a paper done and my PDF viewer is not working. I load the paper I need and it just hangs at the bottom of the first page and takes forever to scroll down farther. It's not just taking time to load either it just won't scroll and it's frustrating.

I'm running Nuance PDF reader on Windows 7
I already tried turning it off and turning it back on.
 
Tha Adobe reader is the industry gold standard and it is free. You can't beat free, so why not give it a try?
