HI Guys,

I'm new to this Forum, but not to Spydercos in general or BFC. I just acquired the bottom knife in this photo fron A Dear Friend's Estate Sale. First & foremost, this knife is not for sale! I think I got a great price on it - $120. What is your opinion of its' actual value? I know my friend kept very good care of his knive and had quite a collection. I am just wondering what a PE Civilian would fetch in today's market. As I stated, it's not for sale. It has too much sentimental value attached to be that crass. So give me your honest opinion. I'm just looking for the value of this knife. BTW I did not bid, I only paid what was asked. Thanks for your help. I figured this would be the best place to come for an honest answer.

Hi Ken,
You answered your own question.Since you bought it from a dear friend that owned it and it's high sentimental value....There you go.

fisherk,
I guess the actual value of the CF Smoothie is about 170--200. I know this because I've recently bought a smooth edge Civilian and wondered the same about the value. I've asked around and got spot checks of the winning amounts on ebay and the values from all sources usually fall within the above range. For 120.00, you will get a definite profit if you decide to sell. Great snag, mine cost way more than that :grumpy:

I' agree with hateman, the civilian PE is a very rare model (so expensive),and the handle in carbon fiber increase the price.
I think the price is around 200$, even if a friend has bought one on ebay for 120$ with the shiping cost and custom cost, he payed around 200$).
Civilian PE is a wonderfull model.

Thanks for the infromation. Like I said, I have no intentions of selling it, because it is "priceless" to me. I was just curious, because I've never even seen one up for sale! I guess they are pretty rare. I'm sure this one is in pristine condition, because all of his knives were. Thanks again.

Blade Art website has this same CF PE Civilian on sale for 179.95. They are a limited production run, but nowhere near as scarce as the original Aluminum/Kraton scaled PE Civilian. The knife you acquired is a nice deal for the price you've paid (without regard to it's sentimental value) but around $15 below the price I paid for mine when it was offered new.
