Peacekeeper new to me

Picked these up today in Raleigh; from all I can gather, an early Peacekeeper 1 and a later (Taiwan) Peacekeeper 2. The Pecekeeper 1 is a factory second (with a small 2 melted into the butt of the grip), I am assuming for the edge grind being uneven at the base? Any insights appreciated!

The Peacekeeper I is in Carbon V.

I bought two seconds I think in 2002 during the Christmas sale for maybe $35.00 each.

I don't know why they were seconds, there was really no imperfections I could see.

I was actually thinking that they put some regular knives into their seconds to cover all their seconds orders since mine did not have the "2" stamp on the pommel area.

CS has gone a long way from minor issues making a knife a second and obvious grinding issues getting past quality control.

I've actually used on as an outdoor knife as a test and I was able to chop branches and saplings to build a shelter just as well as a typical fixed blade of that length.
