peak leds?

Yeah. Not me, but a million people at www.candlepowerforums.com have written about them. Also try www.flashlightreviews.com or some of the other flashlight review sites and you'll get more info than you ever wanted. Peak makes very nice lights. One word of advice: whenever possible get the "Hi Power" or "Ultra Power" version.

I have a brass 3 LED AAA Hi-power and absolutely love it.

There are tons of reviews, but the comment I found the most relevant was comparing it to a nice antique ship's compas. Very classy and very functional. Brighter than a coin cell Photon and runs off of cheap & easy to find AAA batteries.

The only thing I would do differently would be to get the "snow" colored rather than the "white" that I got. Snow was not available when I got mine but no regrets at all.

Lots of folks, including me, are looking forward to getting one of the Luxeon models that are coming out sometime this fall.

It is also a very responsive company to customer input, and goes the extra mile to make every customer happy, from my experience and what I've read.

Just go get one.

I have a Peak Hi-Power AAA with 3 snow LEDs. The Peak is a sensational flashlight. Great performance and great attention to detail. I'm using a lithium AAA battery in it, and the output over the last few weeks has been very good. Snow LEDs are definitely the way to go.

I have a snow 7 Led Mckinley collection aluminum one. I like it very much. It is pretty bright for it's size, and the led's are very white. It also has a very nice beam, perfectly round. I would have gotten the brass except that I knew it would tarnish, and it was more than twice as heavy as the aluminum version IIRC. I highly recommend one! :) (Note: it's the same one pictured in that ad)

I've heard nothing but good things about Peak.

I was thinking of adding one of the hi-power "snow led's" to my growing collection, but am leaning more and more to waiting for their Luxeons to come out (In the meantime, for a pocket-sized EDC, I've just been tickled with my new Nuwai Q-III). ;)

Although their site says the Luxeon Versions will be out "in the Fall", about a week ago I had a long talk with Kurt (sp?) and he said that they've been so overwhelmed with orders since the demise of Arc, that it would be a while longer before they'd be able to get to the Luxeons.

BTW- For what it's worth, manufacturers have to sell their products to retailers at reduced wholesale prices, so that the retailers can in turn mark them up for a profit (it wouldn't be unusual for Peak to have sold the light to Tadgear for $22.50,..1/2 the retail price!...In the old days, that was called a "keystone" markup). Not to take away from Tadgear, but you can get the same exact flashlight for the same exact price directly from Peakledsolutions.com...and then they won't have to share the profit from the sale with Tadgear (sorry Tadgear...nothing personal...I'm sure you're fine folks). http://www.peakledsolutions.com/cr123_7LED.html

Yeah Baby!

I have both the high power 3 LED AAA brass and the single N cell brass 3 LED. Great lights. The little N Cell light is tiny and fits perfect in my survival kit.

I have the CR123 hi-power 3 snow led light. One of the things I like best about the light is that the keyring attachment unscrews so that the light is free from your keys and can stand on it's end. It makes a great little lantern when you do this. Compared to my arc AAA, this light definitely has much greater throw, but less sidespill. However, for the type of light that it is, I don't think this really matters much. It easily lights up the area in your general vicinity (a few feet) but has the advantage of shining pretty far as well (down a hall way for example, or a few feet infront of you if you're outside). My only complaint about the light is that it is a little bit fat for pocket carry. I currently am carrying it in my pocket despite this, but when the newer version of the AAA comes out (it's a little shorter than the current AAA version), then I think I'll buy one of these and keep the current light as a backup.

Hope that helps.
