Peanut/Coyote comparison?

I was just wondering if anyone had any side by side comparison pics of the Case Peanut and The GEC Coyotes? Also I'd love to hear your thoughts on these two knives in comparison with each other. I have a couple Coyotes headed my way that I'm pretty stoked about and would love to hear opinions from people who have both. Thanks!

While I don't have a side by or comparison pic of those two. I know that I wasn't captivated by the one Case Peanut I held in hand. I prefer the Swayback for a small knife in the Case line. But I like the GEC "chunk" in comparison to other knives of similar make and pattern so I was interested to see what they did with on their version of the Peanut. I have a Coyote now and a Beagle on order. I like the Coyote a lot. I hope I like the Beagle too but I am skeptical about the smaller secondary blade on such a small knife.

So again not exactly what you asked for...but hopefully somewhat helpful.

I don't own a Coyote but check out posts number 41, 48, and 70 in this thread for some comparison pics:

Yes the pic in post 48 illustrates nicely the GEC "chunk" I mentioned.

I like the size and and shape of the Coyote a lot & will probably carry often. The peanut has more heft to it and I think I have gotten used to that over the years. The Coyote feels so light it is taking some adjustment.

I've carried the Coyote for almost 2 weeks, and the Case Peanut had previously been my main work knife for some time. Similar size, which is why I bought the Coyote, and as Wilsonhome says, the Case Peanut has more weight, but the difference is slight for me.

There is a quality difference, and since the GEC is almost 3 times the Case price, there should be. They both perform well for my uses.

Good to see the pictures and read the reviews. STILL waiting here in Europe....:grumpy:

I think it is perhaps a bit of a stretch to say the Talon is almost 3x as costly as a Peanut, OK the Delrin ones are inexpensive but if you want one in wood then they are not so far off in price, GEC's Stag is vastly superior to CASE offerings and the Coyote is available in Micartas and sports a carbon Wharncliffe. Will let you know how I like it when it turns up..but I've never liked the Peanut too much, the handle is narrow and that Pen blade is so fiddly and small to open, it would be better as single-blade. Plus, the Coyotes are Barehead, always better:D:thumbup:

Yes, the GEC Coyote is not 3 times the price of a Case Peanut - I should have looked at current pricing; low $20's is what I remember paying some years back. And Osage vs. yellow Delrin isn't quite apples to apples.

For those talking weight difference...maybe the Beagle would be a more fair comparison as it more resembles the other versions. A single blade Coyote with wood slab handles, and bare headed as well, should be lighter.
