Nice! I'm a Pemberton man myself, but love the small Peanut category of knives. They're great companions for casual everyday use.

I have that same peanut. It's my travelling knife. I took it to England a few years ago. Next Tuesday it'll be going to Italy with me. I really like the Thomas raindrop Damascus.

I always take two or three blades with me when I go to Italy. My family is from Italy. The problem is when I visit my cousins they always admire my knives and I end up giving a few away, so I'm careful which ones I take. If you are going to be in Rome there is an "Armory" half way up the hill near Piazza Barberini just behind the Hotel Bernini Bristol. They have a very good selection of blades. I always buy 1 or 2.

Congrats on your peanut, great knife, I like the shield in yours better than mine

i can see the peanut not being a problem with checking in luggage, but would they allow a peanut through security? i'm not up on all the tsa requirements that seem to change day to day.

No, you can't take a Peanut or any knife onto a plane in the USA, on your person or in carryon. In checked luggage, they are allowed. However, since checked luggage is subject to hand searches after it leaves your view, some expensive items may disappear mysteriously during the search.

When I travel by air, the knife I take in my checked luggage is an easily replaceable Victorinox Swiss Army Knife that costs about $25. Not a major blow if lost, and not enough value to make it worth stealing, er, I mean mysteriously disappearing.

Back to the OP, those Damascus raindrop peanuts are sure pretty knives. Good find on that one!

I put my knives in my checked luggage. I have had a few things show up missing. Going through Paris you are pretty is sure to find something missing from your luggage. I haven't lost a knife yet, but I have lost quite a few Leatherman tools.

It'll be in checked baggage. I haven't had anything pilfered yet and I've done some travelling. Knock on wood.

I don't think that I've ever had a Case that had matching scales on both sides.

That looks like a completely different knife because of the pile side pic. I like it!

Me too, I am a odd duck, I don't mind mismatched scales, I like variations, I have a Boker stockman that I picked out with mismatched scales, one side is a grainy bone the other translucent.
On the stag peanut, something about the pile side really speaks to me.
