Does anyone make a small, peanut-sized knife with a wharncliffe blade? I really like the Case swayback, but it is larger than I would like.

I am not aware of any, but, I would bet there are some vintage knives that fit the bill. You may need to spend some time searching the auction site. The size difference between the Peanut and the Swayback is minimal. I really enjoy both. My EDC is rotating between a swayback, derlin Peanut in ss and an old KaBar Jack. These small knives have been all I need and carry so well.

The smallest wharncliffe folders I know of are the Case Swayback Jack and Mini Trapper. At 3 1/2 inches, both of these are a bit larger than the 2 7/8 inch Case Peanut, however.

I don't know whether you would consider a custom knife but Hiroaki Ohta has a small Swayback pattern that you can keep an eye out for. Last I knew he takes orders also.
Here's one I have, 2 13/16" closed length.

Also Case makes some single blade Swaybacks. They would be a nice slim carry. I just checked the Case website and they list the length as 3 1/5" on the Swayback gent.

I really like a Wharncliffe blade. I rarely carry a slipjoint without one.

The Queen Dan Burke series has a small half whittler, warncliffe main blade. I think it's around 3"

Queen has made some thru the years under the Schatt & Morgan name. Some in the Annual Reproduction Series & some SFO's. 3 1/8" closed with different secondary blade configurations.

Hope this helps :D

I don't know if they still make it, but Case did make one that was pretty close.

Not a Peanut, but Case has some tiny Trapper Wharnys (2 3/8") & med. Trapper Wharnys (3 1/2"). Also, GEC's Barlows with main Wharncliffe blade are 3". The GEC's stouter, though.

I love wharncliffes & one of my EDCs is a Case Seahorse Whittler Wharny. It's slim, but 4" closed.

I have a Tiny Wharncliff trapper. I carry it because of knife size limitations at work. You might find that one a bit too small. I do. I think the mini-trapper size would be nice to carry 3 1/2" closed.

Ahhhh . . . I knew you guys wouldn't let me down!

It looks like the Wharncliffe Tiny Trapper would fit the bill the best. I do like the swayback though, although it's a bit big. I would be carrying it at work as my "whitecollar" edc, which means thin dress pants.

I am considering a visit to the Case plant during a vacation this summer, and I'll have to check them out in person.

I carry my swayback in dress pants all the time. It's a great knife, but then again so is the tiny trapper. ;)
