I can’t seem to stop...picked up another Case today. This time a second Peanut in brown Delrin which is becoming my favorite (this and the yellow handle) for EDC. The blade steel on the brown “Working” line knives looks different than the steel used on the Amber Bone, and Yellow Handle Case knives I’ve picked up. Don’t know if it’s just a matter of less polishing, or if they are actually using a different steel. It has more of a brushed look (can't really see it in the pictures). The blade on the brown Delrin is also slightly different at the top, above the nail nick (as is my brown Stockman), and possibly a little thicker than the blade on the Amber Bone Peanut. I like it better cosmetically. Fit and finish is a little better on the brown knife. Seems like Peanuts are pretty popular around here, so I thought I’d post a picture.

Noticed the same on my CASE brown delrin Slimline Trapper: The blade is brushed matte rather than polished on the yellow handled and Green Bermuda bone ones. Looks like a good honest worker though!

Two very lovely 'nut's, Doug.

Dang, I miss carrying my peanut!:(

I don't think Case used a different steel, but on a working knife they probably just gave it a quick satten finish thinking a real working man is going to use the heck out of it and not worry about scratches and dings.

I like the matte finish. It does look more like a "working" knife, and less like a toy.

I'm feeling a little less guilty after looking at Thomason's picture. I guess I have a ways to go yet. I have to admit that if a Yellow Handle CV Peanut presented itself, I'd have a hard time saying no.

I love my Peanuts. Only problem is I only have 3 so far. Do any of the older Case Peanuts not have half stops? Just curious.

I got a brown synthetic handled peanut for Christmas. Needless to say, I was very happy.
