Before I met Jackknife, I couldn't have given a tinkers damn about the peanut pattern. Sure, it was neat, but it never tripped my trigger. My father liked them, and lost enough of them, when I was growing up, including one I found for him a couple years ago. I was more interested in a time in the big modern one handed folders that you needed a belt and pair of suspenders to carry, pocket clips on them were so the knife didn't fall through your pants pocket.
I tried a few Case peanuts, and gave them away, one of them to my father. Carl gave me a single blade Remington, later, I was gifted a single blade older stag Case Damascus peanut by Sitflyer. Carl later gave me his Case amber bone Damascus peanut. I in turn gave the Remington peanut to a buddy of mine, that is partial to giant choppers and frame locks. He carries it everyday now. The one from Sitflyer I gave to my little brother at his 21st birthday party. It's his "Sunday go to meeting knife". The one that Carl gave me is my daily carry.
So, I know that Schrade made peanuts. Case still does, and Camillus did for Remington. I'm guessing there are a few peanuts out there stamped Camillus. Each company has a bit of a different blade shape, but for the most part, the legume family looks similar.
If you have a peanut from another company, please share a pic and the name of the company.
