I haven't posted anything in a while so I decided to stick this fella in here to look at. Notice the reverse etch on the blade. Not sure how or why it happened, but it is there.

Nice Eye Candy

I have yet to see any other reverse etch on any CC's. This, no doubt adds to the rarety and collectability of the piece I would imagine?.. Have you ever seen another reverse etch on any other Cargill knives?

This is the only Cripple Creek reverse etch piece that I have seen. I am wanting to find out the story behind it.
Greg

Bring it to Blade Show and I'll trade you a nice minty Case for it :D

Can't wait to meet you in person buddy :)

Trade one of my Cripple Creeks !!! For a Case !!!! Nope, not ever. Not even one.
Greg

Oh my, that's one of the nicest slipjoints I've ever seen!
Congrats man.
What kind of steel is used in the CC's?

I would love to here about when you do.

Thanks,
Anthony

Lenny. To the best of my knowledge, Cargill used 1095 for most, not all, of his blades. I have seen a few stainless but not many.

hi all,
just wanted to let you all know that i have a Parkers knife list from 2000, list #9 that has 330 cripple creek knives listed in it. On page 11 there are six knives listed with reverse etchings. And they are an 85 and 86 pearl trappers. two 85 trappers one with brown jigged bone the other is white jigged bone handles. the other two are an 84 three blade sowbelly with brown bone handles. And the other is listed as an 82 2 blade muscrat with stag handles. So there are a few more out there., but ohhhh where are they hiding. Happy hunting. Shane Stone

Shane,
Great information! Does Parker list additional values for the reverse etches?
