Todd made this little knife in honor of a dear friend from our church, Ves Townley, who served in the Navy and was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed. He lost numerous friends that day, and even now speaks of that fateful day with sorrow. Ves travels all over the country to speak at VA events and the uniform he wore on Dec.7th 1941 is on display at a museum(I cant remember which) in Washington DC.

Anyway, Todd has tremendous respect for Ves as a veteran and a man. Ves has been in poor health lately so Todd wanted to make this commemorative knife for him while he could still enjoy it. Our church honored Ves today by taking a special moment to awknowledge his service to our country, and for all the veterans who have and are serving our country. Ves was too ill to attend services this morning, but we hope to get a couple pics of him, and Todd presenting this Pearl Harbor knife to him next week.

Stunning work...again Todds skills as a knifemaker, artist, and craftsperson speak for themself. His willingness to give to a friend speaks to the kind of man he is.

Great work all around Tanya..

I applaud Todd for presenting a very deserving veteran with this wonderful commemorative knife. Good on ya, Todd.

That is fantastic!! That is a wonderful thing to do for such a great man. That is an exquisite knife.

Great knife and greater cause. I cna't even imagine what it must be like to have been there and experienced what Ves did.

He truly is one of the American heroes and I hope he feels better. I think being presented with that fine knife should help.

Remarkable knife and what's even more remarkable is your gift of generosity to a veteran. Great work Todd!!

Another beautiful knife!

I hope you don't mind, but here are a few photos from my trip to Pearl Harbour last year. It was a very somber experience but I was glad to finally be able to go and pay my respects.

The plaques, sorry about the size but I wanted them to be readable:

Bunker fuel still slowly weeps to the surface:
