A moment of silence for the fallen and a good thought for our troops in the field today.

December 7, 1941, "A Day that shall live in Infamy"

My Grandfather is presently in Hawaii, visiting his fallen friends and fellow sailors from the USS Arizona. He was on Liberty ashore that day, as a new Seaman fresh from school. When he finally was able to make it to the harbor, he found his first ship sunk. He has returned there every year that he can. He's only missed 3 years in the last 35 years. I hope he makes it many more times, but this year may be his last visit before joining his fellows.

A reminder to all: If you know a WWII vet, make friends with them, and thank them for their service. Heartfelt, and often. There are not many of them left.

Yes indeed. Thanks Ted.

Just watched a great story about a woman who was 10 years old and living on the base at Pearl on Dec.6 1941. She had just one the Navy Jitterbug competition by dancing with one of the sailors that night. She found him 58 years later and they danced it again at a memorial get together at Pearl Harbor. Very touching. They both were right in the middle of the attack and survived when many did not.
