Hey Guys, got another interesting blade here.

A friend of mine says it could be a Peasant Chef's Knife as referenced by Lee Valley as something they had purchased and then copied and produced.

Mine has a cheap varnished (maybe) beechwood handle with three little pins.

The blade is marked BASOL YADIGARI.

According to a translation program I ran, YADIGARI is Azerbaijanian or "Heirloom"

Anybody got any idea as to what the heck this is?

Thanx

Classic French kitchen utility/butcher knife style but the current Lee Valley models are made in China. Lee Valley once had a large quantity of old French knives but when they ran out they switched to selling these Chinese copies.

The old french knives they had back when were okay for the price but nothing particularly special about them. I had a couple.
