Hi, I recently just bought a Fox Suru carbon fiber. It has a very rough peel ply carbon fiber finish. I love everything about the knife but the roughness of the finish catches too much of my pocket. I'm not looking to smooth out out completely. I actually like the rough look but I just want to tone it down a bit. Please advice.

You can sand it down but you have to wear a breathing mask and protection. carbon fiber dust is carcinogenic and very irritating.

Just go slowly and sand by hand till you're happy with the feel.

I have a Cold Steel Recon 1 that I picked up second hand. CS tends to have very aggressive G10 texture. The original owner of the knife "filled" the roughness of the G10 with some sort of black, thin-set epoxy. It worked great to smooth out the knife while still retaining a certain amount of grip.

This might be a safer option for you than trying to sand CF.
