Peeling textured G10?

I started my second kit knife, and built a Darrell Ralph Delta 5. I wanted a tactical knife, so I bought a sheet of textured G10. Man, that stuff is TOUGH. It dulled everything I had cutting it, but I finally got some scales the approximate size and shape. I epoxied them on, sanded them to match the profile and decided I was done enough to peel. The peel came off in layers, and one side of my knife is now partially covered in a very thin layer of G10 peel coating. Any idea on how to get it off? I've tried lifting it with a utility knife blade, but just end up gouging the G10 itself.

If I follow.... you epoxied them on to shape, but now need to get them off to drill holes, etc? If this is the case, I would avoid using epoxy for test fitting. CA works pretty well... it will hold a piece together but can generally be tapped off. If by "peel" you are saying the g10 delaminated, I'd be a little worried about the g10... I've only used g10/g11 a few times, but it's VERY tough stuff... I'd be surprised if the bond from the phenolic resin was weaker than the epoxy. As far as shaping scales, particularly in a screw together design, you shouldn't need to epoxy anything.... just drill the scales and screw them down. You can shape from there, then unscrew them and do your finish work. Not sure if I answered anything for you... pics would help.

Edited to add: Heat will make epoxy brittle. If you need to get the scales off to start over, you can heat with a propane torch... just be careful about fumes. Be sure to use filters and pre-filters rated for particles (P100) AND Vapors

Textured G10 comes with a masking material on it that protects it from being scratched.
Nikko is having problems removing the masking material.
I would try scrubbing it with some acetone. I'm pretty sure that will break down the adhesive. Acetone will not harm G10.

That makes more sense... I've never used any textured g10.

Sorry, I was talking like everyone knew about textured G10. It has a thin layer of fiberglass as a coating. The G10 is layed onto thissheet to give it it's texture. Once you are done fitting your G10 scales, you are supposed to use a knife edge to peel away this coating. It is itself a fiberglass layer, but it is VERY tough. I'm having rouble getting this layer off. I think it has a very lightly applied release mold apllied so the two layers aren't so stuck together, but I had a rought time getting it to 'peel'
