peep hole info

i know i have sen a peephole that ya cant see thru, ya know where ya cant see shadows and movement from the outside of the door side, i cant seem to find anything about them now, anyone familiar with these and have a link to a source??

this always seemed like a good idea to me.

If you want something meantime and wont cost hardly anything. Tape a domino or something similar over the peephole from above and lift it to look.
 
Those are sweet. I am going to get one when I sell my condo, and buy a house. (I can't drill a hole that big in my door) or at least I'm not supposed to. Heck, I think I might just do it anyway. I don't like looking out and knowing the person on the other side of the door can tell if I'm looking at them or not.

that will kinda work but from the outside ya can see shadow/movement/light when ya remove whatever is blocking the peephole.

say your lites on in the den, when ya go to look thru the peephole after someone knocks ya will see something block the light from the outside thus they will know if ya are home or not minimum.
 
They showed a pricey (300 bucks) device on the news yesterday, a video peephole. It has an external lens, motion-activated recorder (with time-stamp), and can be "aimed" with little arrow controls.
Light-enhancing too, so you can get good images in low light.

The domino effect works really great for me. Get someone to look through after you tape something up and after you are in front of the peep hole lift the object and ask if they saw anything. It can be temporary till...
 
You people watch too many B-movies, lol. How big of a concern is this REALLY? Whoever it is, if they really want to come in, they're going to, whether they know you're there or not. Unless of course you live in a fortified neo-nazi crackhouse of some kind. Which I admit, is kind of a nice thought... not the nazi crack part, the fortified part.
 
reason i was interested is that a bud told me he was gonna invent a peephole like i described, i told him i had seen it already on the net and he told me i was fulla BS, he was already spending the $$ lol.

i have windows in my front door wont work for me anyway.

no "neo-nazi fortified crackhouse" lol.
