Scored a used Pelican 1500 case recently to turn into knife storage and it has the top and bottom foam, but not the middle pick an pluck. It appears so far I need to buy all 3 pieces. Obviously I'd rather not buy all 3 as the pieces I have are perfect and I hate to spend $50ish on foam. Any ideas if just the middle piece can be acquired by itself or is there another place I could look that might cost less? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Call Pelican or your closest Pelican dealer and ask if they'll sell just 1 piece?

Some places sell just the "pick and pluck" section. JustCases, for instance. But they don't have every case (they have the 1550, but not 1500 for instance).

A google search also brought up a few Foam factory and foam by mail suppliers, that while not pre-cut specifically to Pelican case size - do provide cubed pick and pluck foam in a few thicknesses and sizes that could be trimmed to fit the 1500 - at significant cost savings.

I would look for a local foam/rubber supplier. They might even be able to do something better than the cubed foam. there are so many options, but since pelicans get used for all manner of equipment, I bet they would have an idea of what you are looking for.
