Which one would you pick: the Peltonen M07 full tang micarta of the Joker Ranger?
Both 14c28n - 11cm blade.
Thickness blade: M07 4.5 mm Ranger 3.8 mm
Total length: M07 240 mm Ranger 235 mm
There is a big difference in price, would you pay the premium (almost double) for the M07?

The original M07 is Finnish military issue in 80CrV2 and rubber coated handle. It is kind of overpriced Imo, hence the jaakaripuukko got so popular, same blade thickness, similar profile and both blades sourced from the same forge. This version is updated for outdoor enthusiasts with ballooned price further. I don't know where the 14C28N blade is made.

Joker of Spain is not cheaper because of lesser quality, but because they have more manufacturing capacity. They produce more and export more, which lower their price. The Joker Ranger has version with low V, mid V or full flat vs M07 only mid V offer, not that it matters in comparison if you want 1 knife. The M07 is heavier and fell more "sure" in the hand.

Personally I would go with the Joker. For a 11cm blade, that thickness is not needed.

I have a Joker Ember Full Flat ground in 14C28N with Micarta handle. It's full tang, VERY well made, and is well designed with good balance.

I believe Joker's only option for sheath material is leather. And looks like the M07 Ranger Puukko offers a choice of either leather or synthetic.
I found the Joker leather sheath to be well made and completely satisfactory; but if you want a synthetic material sheath, that's going to be an added cost with the Joker which you may need to factor into your pricing comparison.

Other than that, I'd likely go with the Joker.

id go with the joker also. I own a bunch of their knives and they are well made and a good value. least ones I own.

I believe the Joker Ranger comes in only two grinds: scandy and full flat.
The Full Tang M07 only comes in a black of a brown leather sheath.
Composite and kydex are available for the regular M07

One day, some day, I am going to spring for a Joker - maybe two. I've been looking at them for quite awhile; they have some very appealing blade profiles, feature very good materials, fabrication, fit and finish.

There are some very positive YouTube reviews on them, also.

I just got an email from a friend in Finland, a knife and gun guy, he sent a photo of the Sissipuukko in the photo above but said it was in Bohler N690 stainless steel. John
