Hi all.

I am looking for comparison photo of the Investigator and the Extreme Duty pen. I own the Investigator and would like to get an idea about the size of the Extreme Duty. Alternativly a comparison shot of the Extreme Duty and the Surefire I pen would work too.

TIA.
Nick

Only pen I have close to the Surefire I, is the Surefire III. I do not have an Extreme Duty, this is the best I can offer at this time, hope it helps.

Nice!
When my oldest gets home from work I will try to post some pics of Investigator and Extreme Duty (with strike bezels) not sure if you are interested in the optional tips but I got him 2-3 different tips.

Well, I got photo spanked by Mr Rob O. My pics don't cut the mustard next to that one. Damn nice stuff.

Nah man, He's just a big show off. I hear he has an in with the owner or something... :p

They are all nice pics, amazing stuff! I gave three to my Boys for Christmas.... nobody got me one:grumpy: Can't go wrong with any of them.

i wanted the stone washed investigator, but i couldn't find them anywhere, so i ordered a bead blasted. Does anyone have the extreme duty and investigators alongside other things like a phone, or other common objects to get a better comparison? I haven't seen either since the california custom knife show and i just decided to go with the smaller one since i figured it be more comfortable, for long usage. But am still open to getting an ED pen

Look in the photo thread, nice pic of an investigator with an XM. Here are some "common" items in the photo to help with an idea of scale. To many, I'm sure the patch and lanyard bead in my earlier pics gave some reference. None the less, here you go...

P.S. ...ok...rubiconss, join in the fun, brother.

I gotta round up my pens... Dang I new there were multiple reasons why I should have given them to Moi this Christmas... Who knew this would be one of them:eek:

Here's mine:

I think the differences are just in size really. They're almost the same weight for the Al versions.
i like the Extreme Duty's size better for everyday writing and the Investigator's size as a back up shirt pocket sized pen.
They're both well bulit and the Fisher ink is the best. I havent had a problem and i do alot of writing, alot! It's a score either way.

Nice gear/kit, Acerazor. I agree the Investigator is an awesome secondary / back-up pen.
That is why I own more than one, they fit most any pocket and the clips hold very tight.
Only drawback is the caps may loosen a bit in the pocket, so I check them every time I reach into my pocket for any reason.
I believe o-rings can assist in keeping caps in place, will try that soon enough. If ever the Hinderer crew decides to go clickey or even twisty (no cap to mess with), it will become my primary EDC writting tool. Especially if it is offered in the Extreme Duty size.

well damn, seems i need to get a ED pen as well. I wish i could put my Mars Fisher ink inside the Hinderer pen. That would be the ultimate pen for me.

I'm aware most everyone posting here owns the Investigator. And that my last photo wasn't much help to the original post since I didn't place a Extreme Duty or even the Surefire in it. Oh well, I feel photos in threads make them better. Even if the pic is a little off target of the request.
