Just had a few pen questions of my own.
1. Does the Lamy vista only take lamy refills? I'm thinking of getting the rollerball version and was wondering about the availability of refills.
2. Anybody have any opinions on the Sensa Cloud 9? Also availability of refills?
3. What size pens do you guys like when it comes to ball point and roller balls ? fine or med for each?

I'm thinking a parker classic or jotter ss with a gel refill is more sensile.
The fisher bullet pen has crossed my mind too.

Do ballpoint pens leak more or rollerballs?

opinions?

Sensa uses Fisher refills.
The Parker Jotter SS is a great pen for very little money.
Fisher Bullet Pens are the easiest to carry, and will write when you need them to.

Yes. I've yet to find a third party refill that fits cleanly. Been at it since I prefer Schmidt rollerball refills to just about any on the market.

Rollerballs I prefer Meds. Ballpoints, broad.

Good ones, no. But ballpoints tends to glob. Schmidt "non-dry-refills" work as advertised. They don't evaporate as much as the Lamy's.

Fisher does make a BALLPOINT refill that will fit a Lamy ROLLERBALL. But I don't know of any other true rollerball that will fit a Lamy. If finding refills are a problem you can order them on-line from several sources such as Joon.com or LamyUSA.com Regarding tip selection for a Ballpoint go with BROAD (writes smoother) Roller go with MEDIUM. Unfortunately Cross doesn't make a broad ballpoint refill for the giant selectip roller ball, but Cross writes so smooth you can live with their medium. And unfortunately Waterman does not make a broad ballpoint refill, but their medium is SO good I don't mind.

Good Ballpoints and good rollers don't leak, I've had Parker rollers and ballpoints leak (not many and these were exceptions and you gotta remember I've used Parkers 10 to one to any other brand and have used them for years and in all that time with many pens and several refills I've only had one of each type that leaked. I also use Waterman ballpoints and rollers and have yet to have a leak in either type of Waterman, BTW Waterman replaced Parker (just slighty as my FAV).

OK before I begin to aimlessly ramble. I'd skip the Lamy and go with a Parker Sonnet (they're great), but if you can or want to spend the money the Parker Duofold is simply the BEST, only reason I ain't got one is the PRICE, but I have used them and they rule. Also check out the Waterman Expert (my Favorite), or Anything made by Cross. I own many Cross pens (ballpoints and selectips) and have NEVER had a Cross leak or malfunction in any way, them and Waterman are the only two brands I can say that about and I've used many. But I can still recommend Parker without hesitation bc I've only had 2 bad refills in 20+years of using them and have used that brand far longer and more often than any other.
