Is the rivet at the end of the handle actually going through, and retained to, a tang ? I've been picking up some AUS-10. And my second Mini Hunter feels like it has a small air pocket in the rubber grip. It feels a little disconcerting, but the knife isn't valuable enough to go through the replacement hassle. Does the rivet also help with the retention of the rubber grip on the tang ? Thanks.

Never mind. I seem to have "burped" out the bubble/air pocket. Both Mini's feel identically normal now.

Yes to the last part .

The rivet / lanyard hole goes right thru the tang on all the CS models with Kraton handles , so far as I can tell .

Thank you sir, appreciated. I was handling it again, and once again felt something slightly off. Knowing about the tang helps with my O.C.D. 🤖

I'm no expert , but I believe that the these Kraton handles are essentially pushed onto the tang and then riveted .

All of mine have been solid and durable over decades , but I can see how air could be trapped ...so IDK ?

I'm sure the true experts here would definitely know more . :)

Edit : My own philosophy and practice is probably unusual .

I will take inordinate amounts of time and trouble to return even rather inexpensive items, that I deem obviously flawed and/or not as described .

I don't want to reward bad product sellers , just thru my own laziness .

Yes , it's often an incredible PITA and not at all worth it money wise ...but satisfying in that I have not rewarded bad behavior .

Got to ~7:56 in the video below. You get a good view of the SRK's tang and can see the rivet hole. This is standard construction for CS Kraton handled fixed blades. I've taken several Kraton handles off cheaper CS knives (just to see what the tangs looked like) and they've all been put together the same way. 👍
