Hi folks, I am new here with my first post.
I recently got a Pendleton Mini Hunter (VG-1) and quite enjoy it as an EDC for light tasks like cutting up a pie or sandwiches, etc, while I'm out.
After I cut up the food, I give it a good wipe and wash it with some water to get the food and sauce off it.
What I noticed is that water drains into the handle from the gap between the metal and the kraton. When I squeeze the handle, I can see the water bubble up. Sometimes that water smells like the food I cut up.
I am concerned that having water trapped in the handle like that can't be good for the steel, like causing rust. I also don't like the idea of water and sauce, etc getting stuck in narrow spaces, encouraging mould.
Is this a known issue for Cold Steel blades that have kraton handles?
Is it even an issue? Do I have a faulty model where the handle isn't sealed properly?
Thanks.
PS: I also emailed Cold Steel, but got a response back saying it could be days to hear back.
