HOGS: For low drag and easy penetration, which anorexic Busse do you recommend? Tnx!!

Sorry about this, but I just can't resist: What are you planning on penetrating? :D

You are a HOG.
The ability of a blade to cut and penetrate, must be equal.
IMO.

Well.... what are you penetrating? If I were penetrating a 50 gallon drum I'm pretty sure my Killer Bee would do the trick but if I were penetrating deer flesh I'd go with the Boney AD. For penetrating the sternum I like a BATAC but many others would work.

This would be a "combat" knife. The BA might be too wide? I'm thinking, Killa B or Satin Jack?
Please continue.

SJ is great, but for a fighter

THE BARF RULES!

just pic your size........and then of course find it:thumbup:

HR. nice and pointy. especially if you take the swedge to a stone or grinder to continue it all the way to the tip. i've gotten the deepest sticks on throws with it of all my knives

Well, if all ya want is something for penetration and don't care about utility look no further to the BARF ... It is a straight Killer and nothing else... Sooooo cool !!

This is my home security system :thumbup::cool:

I had a pistol like that at one time! S&w Mod.59. Now Dad has it.
Tnx for all the tips!
Time to THINK.
Ouch. :)

That 'might' be the One. ;)
What is the damage$$?
Tnx, Uncle Jarvis and All.

Holy cow. A thread about cutting things in the Busse forum.

I've always taken the term "combat knife" to mean one which is used in the context of a combat environment, but not necessarily as a weapon, and definitely not as a primary weapon. So in that sense, a "combat knife" would not be a "fighting knife". I would see the combat knife as being used for chopping, digging, prying and general light destruction, in addition to more conventional cutting tasks.

To the extent that the soldier is more likely to enter into hand/hand combat than say, a hunter, the knife might be more likely to be pressed into service as a weapon. My point is just that, even in the context of battle, I would still see the vast majority of the knife's uses as being of the non-weapon variety.

Given all of this, "low drag" in terms of penetration and "low drag" in terms of cutting are going to start pulling you in separate directions pretty early on. In my mind, it would make more sense to either prioritize one of the criteria, or carry two knives.

Man, someone post a pic of the PT-5 (is that what it was called --- the crazy scary tanto thingy???)

Of course, they say the shiva-rex was designed for that, but i've nevr handled opne, seems small for a fighter...

I paid $500 for this blade recently on an inside deal.... Several months ago I picked up a similar one for only $450.

The exchange is a different story.. prob would run $600..

I recommend running a Want to buy thread for a 3/16th SJ user// That is how I usually bypass secondary prices and for the most part I receive are extremely reasonable deals..

Good luck bud ..:)

OK---Fighter. :)

Then I would say in the Land of Busse, you'd be looking for a KB, possibly with a tweaked tip.

Of course it's going to slice about as well as a curtain rod (don't tell Tony) but it would penetrate well and leave a nice, wide wound channel.

It would also not tend to snap if it encountered unexpected, irregular resistance.

Note that this is a relatively specialized tool, and perhaps not something that can be rationalized as fishing gear when the security guard at the bank asks about it, or when you get pulled over for DUI because your dog is thrashing around in the car.
