Just took my Penknife out for a trial run after touching up the upper "horn" of the handle with a rotary tool (thanks for the tip Nasty). Wow, what a performer. Effortless pruning of scrub trees up to 3/4" diameter. Size and weight are very comfortable, even witha slightly small handle. Another pat on the back for the designer, the unsigned kami who produced this wonder, and HI for encouraging this kind of development. Now it is going to be a difficult choice of which Kukhri from my collection I like best: the practical Penknife, or the extravegant, but oh so pleasing Movie Model. The unpolished horn handle the movie model came with, and the sheer size, gives it the edge in comfort, but unless the zombies are due soon, I don't see it getting as much use as the Penknife.

Don't forget to personally thank Daniel Koster, the inspired genius behind the Penknife. It is a truly great design. Few knife makers understand the dynamics of the big blade like Dan does. And fewer still are as generous with their knowledge.

One of those puppies should be under the driver's seat of every vehicle driven by a cantinista, IMHO. :D

You'll find that the PK is pretty popular because it chops far more effectively than it should for that size. It's an excellent design.

If you want more of that in a larger package, the BGRS is the way to go.

Something to consider for a real reason.

We need to have reasons to have these???

Sorry, I'm still kind of new to the forum. I thought I did thank Dan specifically, without sounding like some kind of groupie (which I kind of am after viewing his website and using the Penknife...), by specifically mentioning the designer first in my post. I guess I could send him a private e-mail, but thought that would be imposing.

Will have to work harder on my kantina ettiquette.

Your post was fine;
& Dan would be fine with an email anytime,
as would anybody here.

We're just a bunch of guys, you see,
who like these curvy knives.
Although Elvis has left the building,
We're all still trying to sing along.

Oh, & if I forgot to say it previously,

Welcome.
Pull up a rock & prop your boots up--
I need a strop for my khuks.

:D
