Hi! I've just registered. A friend was wondering what the correct term for the area of the handle that the blade sits in in the closed position of a penknife/claspknife. I didn't know but said I would look on the internet. Would anyone here be able to help me with this query?

Good question. I don't know of a standard term, but I refer to it as a blade channel. I can't recall any authority for the term. Except my own.
