Just got one today and man is this knife ever BIG! The handle shape is absolutely comfortable in my hand. I would like to have seen some spacers about midways up as the hadles do flex a little, but this doesn't seem to hurt the overall performance from what I've read about these knives. The search function here brings up a lot of good information concerning this knife. I was after the Spec Elite II, but the place I buy from (B&M) were soldout but had the Pentagon, so I went ahead and got it. At the price I'll go back and get the Spec Elite when they come in. Don't think this will become a edc, as I know it won't replace my BM Rukus w/ivory micarta grips, but it will probably be a jacket pocket, or vest pocket carry item. I have a couple of the 5.11 Tactical Vests that the knife will fit into just fine and as I wear these a good bit it will be along with me most of the time..................so I guess in a way it will be an edc!

Anyone have any thoughts on this knife? :D

OK, I've had a little more time to spend with this knife and really like what I see. As I said above, my current edc is a Benchmade 610 Rukus, and though the Pentagon will not be replacing it, it will be riding along with the Rukus in a jacket/vest pocket. One thing I've noticed deals with the Arc-Lock vs. the Axis lock; the spring behind the Arc lock has more strength than the Axis lock's omega springs. Sometimes the omega springs feel a little weak but this Arc lock spring sure has a lot of stiffness and I like that. I did tighten up the pivot a bit as the blade was not centering and there was blade wobble from the box. Now the wobble is all gone and the blade centers itself upon closing, and the action, though stiffer, is still smooth and a thumb push will open and lock the blade. Went ahead and applied a little blue loctite to that pivot screw so I won't have to worry about it coming loose. Added a nice laynard to it complete with a Reeves knot (hangmans noose) of about 8" so I'll have something to grab hiold of if bringing it out from a deep pocket. Even though it has a slight flex about midways down, you really have to squeeze it hard and apply all the force to one spot to get the flex. I guess a death grip on the handle may induce flex, I don't think it will be enough to hamper the knife or cause any lock failure. Again I'm happy with my purchase, especially for 65 Washingtons, and am waiting for the Spec Elite II to be restocked!

I have one and it really is one ginormous knife, bigger than my seal pup elite even. It's not my EDC but rather i got it because i wanted a big folder. :) It's very well made (espically for the price) and even flickable. I may pick up the Spec Elite sometime because the blade shape is probably more versatile (though with a blade this big, the shape is probably the least of your concerns). :D

Yeah, that Spec Elite blade looks like a real winner to me and I'll definatelly picking one up when my B&M restocks them. But in the meantime I'll just have to content myself with this one to play with!:D
