Pentagon Sheath

Another Pentagon junkie! :D

Answer: eBay.

I know that sounds like a "flip" dismissive answer, but it's the right one. SOG went from leather to a paramilitary looking kydex thing to a very bare bones plain kydex thing. I understand the economic necessity of why they're switching sheaths and I'd rather have them save on the sheath than the Pentagon.

Still, those glossy black leather sheaths were incredible. I wish SOG would offer them as an upgrade.

I'd link up an auction of a seller who has a leather sheath but I just got nailed with 10 Infraction points today for "auction spotting" even though it wasn't my auction. Really made my day.

I've bought a couple of worn/ used Pentagons (one of my ALL time favorite current production knives and primary EDC) just for the leather sheath. I've got a bunch, so I'll stay off the one that's up there now.

If you want a replica, I can personally recommend Tree Stump Leatherworks. His prices for a basic sheath (no embellishment) start at around $50 which is cheaper than what a mint leather sheathed Pentagon sells for on eBay.

Thanks, Vaako. I actually found a site that has 'em brand new with the leather sheath (and cheaper than ebay), but now I'm leanin towards a replica. Those Tree Stumps look nice, just wish I afford one with inlaid stingray skin.

If it's just a sheath you want, Chris Kravitt's "basic" models are every bit as good as his "high end" work.

But it won't have the exotic contrasting leathers, the carving, the any of the other goodies. Still, for me, the Pentagon has always been a discrete-carry knife so it's not like anyone would normally even see the sheath that much.
