Took a hike along a local river today.

A few pictures of my afternoon and evening.

The water has finally dropped after the snow melt. This was all under ice jams three to four weeks ago.

The trail follows the river. I hiked about 2 miles along the river then turned back a mile to one of the fire pits along the way. Was real windy so I picked the one with a wind block.

Going to make up a belt loop for this but for now it rides slipped in my belt.

Yup, definitely looks like I missed a good hike & fire. Hey, look at that first pic. I could be mistaken but in the foreground underwater it looks like there's a massive amount of frog's eggs there. I'm definitely planning on getting out next weekend.

That is what it looked like to me! Should be seeing tadpoles real soon. I walked slowly and as quiet as possible to the swamp side and frogs were jumping in the water by the dozens every 10 feet i walked.
 
Great pics buddy, love that Skookum.....Ps.my favourite brewery, Phillips, has just bought out a beer of the same name !
 
Great pictures! That one of the frisky frogs is awesome lol. Looks like an awesome time out in the new spring, thanks for sharing!

Your Skookum looks short in the blade, or is that an optical illusion?

It's just an optical illusion. My photo skills are not very good.

I have a BCUSA patch on the pack (obscured in photo) and plan on putting a W&SS patch on (have the most current one) but am waiting to see what the next one is.
Hoping the next one has hatchet and knife on it. I think design #2 & #4 had both.
Also going to sew a loop strap on the outer pocket mesh center support to hang my cup and other small stuff.
 
I like the fire shots! Also neat to see all those eggs beside the frogs.
