Took delivery yesterday of a couple of Spec-Op Combat Master sheaths. Quickly modded one for my SH-E by putting a nice groove on one side of the sheath. I've liked the fact that the kydex liners protruded above the top of the nylon. This condition has allowed me to mod the liner such that talon-hole humps can slide down, allowing the scales to fit snug to the liner.
My SH-E was a perfect fit once I made the modification. However, the other sheath, intended for a SR Chopweiler, has no protrusion of kydex. I contacted Spec-Ops to see what was up, and a sales manager informed me that "all current production liners are being made so that they do sit almost below the nylon. This is being done because the Army needs them to be fully IR compliant and black kydex is highly ir reflective."
