I been wanting to do this to a Large Classic for a minute now.

This was a user, I did a hand satin job...convexed the edge (shaving sharp) and bead blasted the Ti.

She still has perfect lock-up, detent and opens smooth.

Lemme know what ya guys think.

Damn, looks like new...even better. I like the blade finish. Sebbies look so right with the screws reversed like that, I wonder why they don't leave the factory like that. Nice work!

That looks great

You did a good job round the stud, its always nippy to get a good finish with out removing it, unles thats what you did :p

Looks great! The photos are top notch as well!

Nice work Mark - it looks like you removed the Thumblug to do this - how did you get it out?

By the way, S30V is a b@#$h to do a hand satin on - I've done it a few times and it sucks!!

I use a small socket on the lug side and pieceof round stock and press it out in my vise.

sanding S30V is like sanding concrete...alot of finishes that appear as hand rubbed are done on a buffing wheel with an abrasive compound...if it looks perfect, it may have been done on a wheel.

This finish here is 1000 grit...it looks much better in person....i suck at photo's and this one is magnified.
