I haven't really written about it, but I got one of the CGBWM a while back in Tanker grey and black G10. Quick and dirty review is, it's good for what the name says -- light brush and vegetation, it can chop, but it really isn't all that great at it. It does, however, slice like a razor, and is the easiest knife I have to make fuzz sticks with, believe it or not. So I thought, what to pair it up with to chop well? The BWM is light for a Busse, especially a Mistress. Coming in at only .187" thick with 10" of blade, it's meant to be light. So what better to go with it than a Vec Hawk? Here's the pair: 24" Vec Hawk, and BWM

That's pretty much what I had found out too, it's for lighter work and for that it does an excellent job, but as you said it's not a chopper. :)

I like that pairing but feel the BWM is perhaps a little big for delicate work?

Pairing is for me a really interesting topic ... perhaps my favourite as it basically covers what you would prefer to take into the "sticks" to actually work and live with ....

I would be a little more inclined to the pairing you have on your baldric rig than a 10 inch knife and a hawk .... would'nt you miss a smaller knife for game/food prep?

Well, it depends on how you work, what you do, and if you are willing to learn the way to use the tools.

I was surprised at how well the BWM works for fine work. If you don't want to use the big knife for fine work, add a third, say a BAD or Warden and have a trio.

FWIW, yes, I prefer the kukri and R-10 knife.
