If there were two specific classes of knives, "EDC pocket folder" and "outdoor sporting straight", which in your opinion would be "the" perfect do all SOG in each class ?

For me, the folder would have to be the "Flash II", straight edge, camo handles, and the outdoor Straight would be the "Hunter Revolver".

I think with these two knives, I could do almost anything a person would ever need to do indoors or outdoors.

What would be your pick ?

Robbie,

I agree with you on the folder (since I haven't seen the new trident yet), and would modify the straight to the regular revolver as I don't need the gut hook.

Scottsman, Thanks for the reply, I use a gut hook to help clean fish (belly cut), and I have used it to cut things like cord, vines, and even tarps or plastic, (makes a nice straight cut), I figure it might save a little on the edge of the blade by using the gut hook for an assortment of other stuff.
Also, the saw on the Hunter Revolver is a double cut, very aggressive and will cut trees or limbs like crazy. They are both hard to beat when it comes to working in the woods. The Flash II is an incredible knife for the woods, seems to be so handy. The only thing you have to be careful about is the camo handles are real easy to miss in the leaves... :D , it would not hurt to use a lanyard on this model.

I only have about 11 SOGs but still can't deside what is the perfect blade(s). Will need to get more and test them out. :p

P.S. Cool thread, would love to know what others think.

the perfect blade is one that does not fold into the handle.....

or twirl around the handle.....

or otherwise move in relation to the handle.....

Cheers,
