After much reading on this forum and other reviews and much more thinking. I finally decided to sell several other knives and purchase what I hoped would be a great woods combo. Now, after receiving an OD Izula (w/kit #1268) and a RC-4 yesterday I know it was the correct decision. Unfortunately I'm not able to own many knives at one time (pesky finances) but these two will go on every woods trip. I'm currently working up a few pictures of my dayhike kit with both knives and I will post in the near future but wanted to let everyone know that these two are a fantastic combo!!! Thanks for a great product RAT Cutlery!!!:thumbup:

Welcome aboard!

Yup, a great combo you decided on. I understand about those pesky money issues completely..... but be warned.... RC blades ARE ADDICTIVE... :)

I use my IZULA mainly for food prep. My main hiking.camping utility knife will be my brand spankin new RC-3 and then I'm looking into either an RC-5 or RC-6 for heavy duty stuff like batoning and such (currently have a Ka-Bar Cutlass for that but who really needs a 12" blade?!)

That's a great choice for a woods combo. I need to get an Izula to compliment my RC-5.

I don't think I could be convinced to part with any of my knives, but if there was a way it would be by dangling a new RAT in front of me! Congrats on the purchase, and welcome to the family!

Thanks for the welcome!! You are all to blame for these recent purchases. I've been putting together the molle back on the RC 4 and wrapping the Izula's handle. I use a recently created Maxpedition dayhike kit built around the 10x4 bottle holder (I know several others on this forum use this method). I've attached a coccoon to one side and a regular Roly-Poly to the other (a great piece of gear if you haven't tried one). I quickly reallzed that if I attach the Molle clip perpendicular to the Izula, it attaches directly to the 2in shoulder strap I use, placing the knife at a great cross-draw position. I really like this more than the belt cross draw because when I'm crouching the knife is still readily available on the strap. I'll post pictures later this week, if this doesn't make sense. The RC 4 will not be left out and on most occasions will ride on the belt.

That sounds like a good combo. I ordered an Izula to compliment my RC4 a few days ago.
