Hello All,

As the title suggests I'm looking for a performance fleece light jacket and was hoping you all might be able to give me some insight. Here are my criteria that I'm looking for:

1) Half / Quarter zipper pullover type
2) Side pockets for my hands
3) Breast pocket is a plus
4) Draw string at the bottom is a plus

Quality construction and materials throughout.

Thoughts?

Any suggestions are highly appreciated!

What do you mean by performance fleece? A soft shell? Windproof? If neither, and you only mean high quality fleece, then there's probably no reason for the bottom drawstring as wind is getting through to you no matter if there's a drawstring or not.

What's your price range?

I like the simple full length zip Steens Mountain by Columbia. Inexpensive. Thick/heavy fleece.

They have a half-zip equivalent but it's missing a few things off your list:

REI is running their winter sale w/free shipping. Check out their site for fleeces.

I'm guessing in the 50 to 100 dollar range? That's a good thought about REI I will check them out, thanks, and thanks for the other suggestions!

I just meant a high quality fleece and I agree that the drawstring is probably superfluous.

Patagonia, The North Face, and Mountain Hardware, all make good stuff that you can find on sale.

As someone asked, are you looking for a fleece to layer with or to be used as an outer layer? Something with high-loft like a monkey man, or Patagonia R3 is great for insulation and breathing, but wind and water will carry right through it.

The north face makes some great in between fleeces with treated water resistant outsides. And even some lightweight nylon jackets.

If you dont need something quite so technical, which im guessing you dont if youre looking at more pullover type stuff, I've always been impressed with quality to price ratio of LL Bean. (I prefer full zippers for their flexibility.)
