Permanent Axis Blade Play solutions?

I recently purchased a BM 710 in M4 and its great but it develops blade play in minutes of opening and closing the knife.

I had the same problem with a 940 a while ago so I traded it but this time I really want this knife.

I tighten the pivot with a hex bit and the play goes away but if I flip it open and close it a few times the play comes right back.

Its not only a little bit of play either its a lot and tbh any amount of blade play is too much for a Benchmade with what you pay.

I really want to avoid sending it to BM to fix this because I don't want and quite frankly shouldn't have to experience this inconvenience.

Any suggestions?

I had this issue with a Nitrous Stiker a few years ago. I sent it back to BM and they told me someone had forgotten to put locktite on it. I have had zero issues with it since I sent it in. They turned it around fast, too. I had it in hand within 2 weeks of sending it to them.

My 710 was the exact same way.

You need blue Loctite. Put a little bit in the pivot, set it to your desire tightness and then let it cure.

It will then be perfect.

For the price I payed that is a little ridiculous..... I really don't want to be without my knife for that long.

thanks for the feedback though!

Probably all over YouTube.

It's very simple. Pick some up from you local hardware store. Take out the pivot. Put a couple of drops on the pivot screw. Put it back in and then tighten it to where you want it. Let it cure and it wont back out again until you take it out.

Make sure to get Blue thread locker. Don't get red. Red is stronger and will take heat to break loose whereas the blue only requires hand tools.
