my dragonfly zdp now has a scar for life !
i neglected to clean it properly and left it for a few days .
some kind of fruit prep i think ?
possibly pomegranate ?

caused heavy pitting where the ricasso is close to the frn

tried cleaning it even tried 2000 grit wet n dry paper , its actually little pits .....
permanent reminder , keep your ZDP 189 stuff clean !!

Now that the "new" is gone you can worry less. For me, the first blemish is the worst. It's like cars. The first scratch sends you into a frenzy and by the time you sell it a ding isn't worth a second glance.
 
I'm considering a ZDP knife, but I didn't know corrosion is an issue. I thought it was pretty resistant.
 
I just got a delica super blue, so I put a zip tie around the spidery hole. Then I didn't really care for it, so I was cutting it off with scissors and I put a nice scratch in it, and messed up the spine. Lol
 
Years ago I bought a Spyderco....I do not remember the model. Minutes after I bought I was opening the box to put the knife in my pocket and I slipped and it went flying. I never seen a knife bounce so many time across a gravel covered parking lot.

My wife says I started crying....but I say she saw no such thing.
