Well, after reading many entries in the forum I find myself more confused than ever. I have now decided that only one Khukuri just will not "cut"it . This i believe will make it necessary to purchase several as soon as i have some free space on the plastic! I know i would like a 12" Sirupati and the toss up from there is still the 15" B.A.S or the 15" A.K. My only experience with a Khurki to date is with a Panawal from Ghurka House and look foward to purchasing a couple of H.I. blades in the future...near future!!

You can't go wrong with an HI. IT is hard to decide on just one as they all have their strengths. There is no way to decide on just one.

A great way to afford more is to pick up some of Uncle Bill's blems. These are cosmetically flawed pieces (not structurally flawed) and still carry the full guarantee in most cases. If you are going to use the khuk, you will probably mar it worse than the original blemish.

Bill has a BAS blem with a standard scabbard available. I have handled it and it is very nice.

Personally, I would go for the BAS in the 15" range. I think the AK format is better in larger sizes (18" and 20") Just my thoughts though.

Bill is very tolerant of excessive mind-changers like myself. If you get something and would rather have something esle, I am sure he would gladly exchange it.

You can't lose with an HI though. Let us know what you decide!

Hi Spring:

Take a look at the reviews and test results and this may help you decide. If you need personal help call or email me.

Yanr, the Panawal seems to be a very well built Khukuri though I have no experience with the H.I. models to date. It is a heavy blade with much of the weight being being foward. It chops well on the small trees that have sacraficed themselves to my testing while holding a good edge. For defense I find it to front heavy , once into a swing it is difficult to change direction with speed. as for as utility I am very pleased. I won this blade in the Ghurka House raffle and was delighted with it. It was much more than I expected. But I will wait for tha B.A.S. I just ordered from Uncle Bill for a comparison on quality. I must add the I am one who likes looks as well as utility and Craig if Ghirka house applied a mirror finish to the blade which was quite attractive though somewhat dull afte use. I will need to repolish it as it was almost to eye catching to to use....almost!!

CD , thanx for the tip on the B.A.S. it is on its way to me tomorrow. Can hardly wait to experience what all of u rave about in the H.I. Khukuri's. I also ordered a 12 Sirupati!! Thanx Again CD!
