So I just received a Perrin that I snagged on eBay (including an Allen Blade kydex sheath, no less) for $49. I was happy enough about the price, but tonight, after a few hours of playing with Tek-Loks and finger choils, I noticed a tiny "291" etched on the spine.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Spyderco numbers the first 1,000 of any collaboration model... is this true? Do I really have the 291st Perrin made?

Nice find. Spyderco will usual number the first 1000(or 1200, one of the two), but go ahead and use it. Mr. Perrin makes his knives as tools, tools to be used hard. :)
